Videography

Videography plays a vital role in shaping and reinforcing our brand because it allows people to not just hear about who we are, but to see and feel it. Every shot, from the way our campus is framed to the tone of an interview, communicates something about our identity, values, and culture.

A consistent visual style helps audiences immediately recognize that they’re engaging with CBU, while authentic storytelling builds trust and emotional connection. In many ways, video is the most powerful brand touchpoint we have, because it combines sight, sound, and emotion into one experience that leaves a lasting impression.

CALL TO ACTION

What to Wear

1. Keep it Professional, Polished and Comfortable

  • Do: Wear something that makes you feel confident, well-fitted and appropriate for your role (academic dean, student, staff, etc.)

  • Avoid: Distracting accessories (dangling jewelry, noisy bracelents) or overly casual wear (hoodies, gym clothes, distressed denim).

2. Dress in Brand Colors

  • Do: Wear solid pieces in the university’s brand palette (navy, white, or shades of blue) to subtly reinforce identity.

  • Avoid: Oversaturated neons, rival colors, or any colors that clash with brand guidelines as they will feel “off brand”.

3. Showcase Authentic University Representation

  • Do: Wear branded apparel (polo shirts, jackets, pins) or professional attire that fits the setting (faculty office, classroom, campus event).

  • Avoid: Outdated CBU logos, brand logos, competing logos or slogans. It distracts from CBU’s story.

4. Keep Patterns Simple

  • Do: Choose solids or subtle patterns. These look professional and camera-friendly.

  • Avoid: Busy patterns as they can cause a distracting “moiré effect” on camera.

5. Think About Lighting

  • Do: Choose mid-tones (blues, grays, muted earth tones). They balance well under studio or outdoor lighting.

  • Avoid: Bright whites as they can “blow out” under lights and pure black as they can flatten on camera.
