Unit Logos
A unit logo represents a school, college, department, office, or any functional business unit at California Baptist University.
Unit Logo Design System
The university logo provides the foundation from which all non-athletic unit logos are created.
A unit logo locks up the university logo with the full official name of the unit.
Combining the university logo with anything other than the official unit name requires pre-approval by the Department of Marketing and Communication.

Formal Logo for Schools and Colleges
An extended logo for schools and colleges includes the full university name in the lock up. Use this version in circumstances where the CBU logo alone is insufficient for proper brand recognition, such as out-of-state recruitment events and print materials.

Usage Guidelines
Official unit logos follow the unit logo design system and are created exclusively by the Department of Marketing and Communication.
Official unit logos or the university logo are the only logos that should be used on official communication or operational assets for CBU units.
Use of any unofficial logos, artworks, and marks that fall outside of the established design system must be pre-approved by the Department of Marketing and Communication.
Follow the guidelines below to ensure consistency in how CBU unit logos are represented across all platforms, reinforcing recognition, recall, and trust. Use the guide to maintain a cohesive look and feel in every piece of content, regardless of who creates it, thereby preventing errors or misinterpretations.
The guidelines below are current as of 2025 and supersede any previously published brand / style guidelines.
1. Follow basic logo usage guidelines
2. Honor the donor
Logos for named schools and colleges must include the donor name, preferably in its full, formal, entirety.
(e.g., Dr. Robert K. Jabs School of Business, Shelby and Ferne Collinsworth School of Performing Arts).
3. Do not abbreviate
Do not shorten, abbreviate, delete or otherwise modify the official name of the school / college.
Exceptions to this rule for a social media avatar, branded promo items, small prints, etc. must be pre-approved by the Department of Marketing and Communication.
In text / copy, use the complete name on first reference (E.g., Dr. Robert K. Jabs School of Business, Shelby and Ferne Collinsworth School of Performing Arts, etc.) On subsequent references, a shortened version may be used (E.g., Jabs School of Business, Collinsworth School of Performing Arts, Metcalf School of Education, etc.)
Never abbreviate The Gordon and Jill Bourns College of Engineering to Bourns College of Engineering.
